4/22 HINAYA, héritière d'une longue lignée du soyeux japonais

We are going to send our textile for Paris for Haute Couture Collection today

This will be the fourth time with Haute Couture in this July.

I really look forward to seeing new collection.

4/20 HINAYA Obi going to NY, II

I write “HINAYA Obi going to NY” before but this time that was across the Atlantic Ocean.

April 7th, They were used in the event「KIMONO CATWALK」at Museum of World Culture in Sweden museum of world culture.

I already introduced sometime before Kimono Hiro, Ms. Hiromi Asai and this is her work.

I would like to introduce some photos from her today.

You can see more detail about this event in her own blog.

It was the first page on local news paper there.

You can see the cat walk. Over 400 people enjoy her work!

This is with our “HINAYA Obi”. Ms. Asai said that this Obi was very picky for Kimono and had a hard time to coordinate but everyone was fascinated.

4/18 Guest

Professor Oda visited us last Friday to Kyoto from Tokyo.

He teaches at Sugino Fukushoku University.

He saw HINAYA textile when he visited Haute Couture Show in Paris in January. He asked On Aura Tout Vu about us and had interest of us.

He suggested very interested project to us at the end.

It was the collaboration with Japanese young designers and HINAYA.

I accept right away, it must be very meaningful for us.

Of course I will keep it posted.

4/13 When buildings meet the sky

I reported that day through this blog..

HINAYA invited the artist from NY Susan Cianciolo in Nov. last year and support her produce.

She had a exhibition at that time as "my visit to KYOTO" to show her archives. She also had a talk show by Nakako Hayashi with Akira Minagawa from mina perhonen as special guest.

She had an exhibition with the products from those days in Kyoto at National Arts Club, NYC as「When buildings meet the sky」 on 16th of Feb.

I introduced the photos before at this blog and please enjoy the video this time.

As you see, it was very different from ordinary cat walk style fashion show.

Susan Cianciolo, she has been opening her own arts crossing between art and fashion and expresses her new style as “This is a new departure”.

It was very shocking when I saw it and felt goose bumps..

Even she said Kyoto was her one of her favorite cities, she was with her 2 years daughter in a place not used to and unpredictable life in a strange country yet she perfectly concentrated producing her arts using her own natural sense positively, with her own pace.

When buildings meet the sky ・・

She was inspired the sky from the window in HINAYA or over the roofs and left Kyoto with words "I would like to exhibit with “SKY” as ny next theme".

I saw she captured exactly what she said in her show in Feb.

I just assume that it was different in her heart between the building and sky in NYC that she always sees and Kyoto's.

This is a new departure・・

The collaboration with Susan Cianciolo, it will be very precious for us from now on.
