3/8 This is a new departure

We are afraid that we have to announce to cancel the collaboration fashion show with Susan Cianciolo and HINAYA "my visit to Kyoto" at Hakusasonso Villa, Kyoto on April 29th.

We sincerely apologize that we have given you dismantlement and appreciate your support that we were given for it.

We are very sorry that we have to announce to cancel this time show, however, our collaboration will be continue from now on.


This is a new departure


This is what Susan said.

I would like to introduce what I got through email from one of the important person who always support her.

She told me from the conversation with Susan taking her true meaning.


"I take her words 'new departure' very positive. As an artist, this is the real turning point toward new direction. The change from that turning point was too big to keep herself healthy. That is Susan was talking to me."


I am very sorry this time happening..

I appreciate and respect that she loves HINAYA textile.

3/7 HINAYA OBI is going to NY

People in foreign countries can see our garments or textile from HINAYA now but this is the first time that they can see our original "HINAYA" OBI in foreign country.


The place to go is NY.


This is for one of the project of one person, I will keep it posted later on and do hope it will be successful!

3/4 Guest from Paris

Ms. Pauline Abascal who is a general manager of textile design of Maxime Simoëns which is one of Haute Couture Maison in Paris. Mr. Ozawa of OZAWA Textile Co.,ltd. who organized "Harisu all textile exhibition" I visited yesterday introduced her to us.

We have showed her HINAYA and Kyoto today and yesterday.

3/1 mitasu+ made a debut!

「mitasu⁺ 」made a debut as new brand of HINAYA on March 1st 2011.


It is a truly one of a kind from scratch, dyeing and weaving.
This line is for both Women and Men not as AKIHIKO IZUKURA for only women.

It had taken for about a year to preparing to release and made a debut at ATELIER show in NY the other day.
It was a very good start!

In Japan, you can get information about mitasu⁺ through its web site and can purchase at show room at HINAYA at this moment.

It has just begun in the world even in Japan..

I hope it will be the main product of HINAYA in the future.

2/29 Arts Day

We have in-house training once a month inviting Mr. Masaaki Sakaguchi as a instructor.

Now we have more workshop style than discussion style we used to have.

The subject in this month is [Arts Day].


Making some arts using our textile, anyone could attend if they want to.

30 people applied then!

We had the first [Arts Day] on Sat. 26th.


They can finish making by 17th of March and each of them will show with their own comments.

They are all on the way, so please look forward to seeing them!

2/24 I am going back to Japan soon.

It is a bit past 5pm here in NYC. I have to leave for JFK airport at 8pm.

I had a fruitful stay here in NYC.

I arrived here on 16th, and attended Susan Cianciolo's show.

Next day, I had a lunch meeting with Gilles who is a business partner of Jean Doucet, and he introduced me a textile supplier for Chanel couture, Jenevieve. Then I needed to set up for Atelier trade show in the evening.

Third day. we still worked on setting up our show in the morining, and had a pre-show sales event in the afternoon.

19～21th for Atelier trade show. We had dinner meetings every night.

On 22nd, I visited our buyers/boutiques in Manhattan and a thank you lunch, then had a dinner at a steak house with NY staff at the evening.

And the last day, yesterday 23rd, I had a meeting with our NY staff and then Susan Cianciolo, and finally Kimomo Hiro.

I have been so busy, so meetings with Gilles and Jenevieve seem so far away.

I will come to NYC in September again, and travel to NYC to Santa Fe, then Los Angeles. I assume I will get much busier.

Thinking of....

Mere 2 and a half years ago, I was seriously thinking of closing down our US office. What a big difference we made!

HINAYA can do more business here in the US?
I felt strongly so during my stay in NYC.
