8/16 CCTV China

We had an interview and shooting for "Japanese Civilization", the documentary program of CCTV, China yesterday.

Mr. Sakaguchi introduced this wonderful opportunity to us.

They will broadcast 10 times of 45 minutes each serially in China.

We have tried to show as we are considering our work of dyeing and weaving at HINAYA until now and then. We have had an interview and a shooting more this evening since yesterday.

Until Now:

My grand grand father started running Nishijin Ori decided discontinuing Gosho Ningyo(Izukura Japanese Doll) when Japan had entered Meiji Period from Edo Period. Grand father carried it on as HINAYA, then the business made remarkable progress in my father's generation.

My father made the foundation of our business by searching for the roots of dyeing and weaving for many years.

Not only dyeing and weaving but all crafts in Japan reach China as their roots when you start searching.

The dyeing and weaving in Toh period in China about 1300 years ago represents the peak of hand weaving crafts, says my father.

I grew up hearing what he said so.

I asked him to tell that story in the interview. I thought it would be a great idea that he, himself who has researched for many years tell the story that he has found.

And Then:

I talked. As I have always talked.

-To release the saving from the past toward the future-for that-To communicate with different values and their different sense of values and study and learn humbly-

To make it simple, I talked like this.

They will edit from many interviews under a great theme, so I have no idea how long we can see us in the program.

However, it was a wonderful opportunity to re-consider about our original dyeing and weaving or Karakumi through the eyes of "Japanese Civilization" for us.

I appreciated that people never stopped to come in and we had very busy days.

Toki-Pottery-festival will continue until Wed. 10 from 9am to 11pm for more three days so please come over to Gojozaka.

It really worth to see so many of potteries.

I would like to recommend to come over at  bleezy night after work.

HINAYA KYOTO Kiyomizu gojozaka and HINAYA FABRICS will extend hours until 11pm for these three days and do look forward to seeing you.

7/30 2011/07/16 Yukata de Party @ HINAYA KYOTO Kiyomizu Gojozaka

We had Yukata de Party at HINAYA KYOTO Kiyomizu Gojozaka Flagship store on Saturday July 16th.

We promoted many places in advance, then, over 100 people gathered together that day.

I would like to give special thanks to the people who came over to see us that day!

Please keep your attention to HINAYA KYOTO Gojozaka Flagship store, we will keep having fun events more. (We will have Kimono de Bonenkai on first Saturday in December as well)

We have been a manufacturer for a long time, so we have very strong manufacturer character in a good and bad both ways.

It seems that we have always excused saying "We don't need to do that, do we? because we are the manufacturer" in a sales circumstances.

But, we will swipe that wishy-washy idea away the chance of the opening of Kiyomizuu Gojozaka Flagship store.

As long as we are opening the stores, it is very important as well as producing to let people know seeing, knowing and touching us how we are and what we are doing.

We would like to make action to do that considering deeply and make it real not only explaining using words.

People could communicate with staff usually producing and not have many opportunity to see the costumers on the party.

That would be great if people thought that "Oh, this person usually design the cloth that I have" or "This person dyed my dress", not only to be taken care of as costumers.

We will have the chance like this time event more and more.

Trying to become the fun "place" to get together.

That would be also fun and wonderful if we could make something great from that "time" and "space".

7/18 Lake Garda-Paris-Going back home

After checking out on Sat. morning on 9th. we head to Lake Garda.

The person who has been taken care of HINAYA invited me to their second house.

Lake Garda is the biggest lake in Italy and the size is 370k㎡(AYR:Lake Biwa, the beggest lake in Japan is 670k㎡).

It is very famous in Italy taking 2hours from Milan by car and gets crowded with many people specially for the weekends in summer.

My idea in the beginning in Milan was walking and investigating the town to know deep more during the all company and school are close on Sat.

"It must be a good opportunity to have a experience of resort in here, Italy. To know our life style must be a good chance to know what and how they think."

And then..

I saw very beautiful places as you see through my pics.

The contrast with ravine and clear, blue water on the lake. The plants harvesting by warm climate, such as Olive, Lemon, bougainvillea and fir. Specially I was impressed by people's outfit in the village. Following by Champagne in France, I could feel touching the essence of Europe.

It was very short stay, my flight which was in the morning on Sunday was waiting for me, but I really enjoy having a experience to open my mind about Europe.

I truly appreciate people who invited me!

I came back to Paris on Sunday and business and business from next day.

I had meetings with designers who collaborate with H I N A Y A such as Yasmine Simmon, Jean Douce and on aura tout vu for the next season.

Then on Thu. the 13th. I finally headed to Kyoto back.

I moved a lot and meet many new people made my body little nervous? I was knocked down as soon as getting on the flight. It was already Narita when I woke up.
