The New Year's Eve, 2010
五木「日本的仏性というものかもしれませんね。日本人の心性にはアミニズム、神仏習合みたいなものが、ずっとあるでしょう。高野山に行くと神社があって、お坊さんが神社の世話をしている。それと同じように、日本のお寺というのはどこに行っても、どこかに鳥居がある。それはほとんど、増上寺でもそうだし、神社のない大寺ってないんですよ。昔から日本人というのは神棚と仏壇が同じ家にあるというので、それがすごく変だと明治からいわれ続けてきたけれど、本当はそうではないと僕は思います。ー後略ー」
立松「そうですね。日本では明治元年の神仏分離で、激しい廃仏毀釈が行われました。僕は百霊巡礼をやっていて、山に行くと、廃仏毀釈で破壊されたままになっているお寺があるんですけれど、神仏分離の文化破壊の痛みを感じますね。」
五木「あれは国家の権力でしたから。」
立松「神仏習合時代、お寺と神社はつねにペアになっていました。比叡山に日吉神社、永平寺にも白山神社がありますように、法隆寺でも修正会の結願の日に『ちゃんとうまくやっていますから』と西院伽藍の裏にある総社の参拝に行くんです。総社明神社とも五所明神ともいうんですが、そこで般若心経を読んで、神々の名を読んで、二礼、二拍手の礼をして行が終わるんですから。
日本人が培ってきた神仏習合の世界は、やはりバランスの取れた社会だったと思いますね。」

Next year, wishing much step forward and leap forward making better foundation
Time goes fast, it is the last day working of 2010 today.
Try anything looking forward the result!
We started facing 2010 saying this, we have great stepped forward to the goal this year because of every one's efforts.
However, I can see some missing points from our project which we have done here and there.
Those will be the next our assignment for 2011.
We all agreed that we could achieve the goal if we tried to tackle together to it, that was a great harvest from 2010.

Today, we announced the new personnel changes for our new vision of three years to make new fiscal year from Feb.
Wishing us to make much step forward and leap forward making better foundation.
Try anything looking forward the result!

I ran 1000 km this year, too!
I accomplished this New Year's Eve last year, so 5 days earlier this year.
I will try to run 1500 km next year!

Project for the workshop at Kyoto show room of AKIHIKO IZUKURA
I asked the advice from one of the staffs yesterday
"remake using used garments" was the one of the subjects.
I was having so many ideas by that.
Some of ideas hit my head and pull the old sawing machine and tried to saw.
How many years I haven't touch it?
Recalling the time when I was going to school, I sew some random stitches on the shirts which I couldn't threw away because of my attachment. It just tuned out fun.
"remake used garments with stitch work" sounds fun, doesn't it?
Not only by sewing machine but hand stitch sewing sounds good, too.

"Art & Craft" is the concept
We are now planning and producing the new collection of AKHIKO IZUKURA for Spring and Summer, 2011.
The concept is " Art & Craft "..
We are trying to produce our garments with the concept of Fiber Art not of Fashion.
"Not the textile for the fashion but for the art.."
"Make the person creative with our garments on.."
"Playful creativity by handcraft.."
It's just started, however,
for the garments looking fun to see, feeling good to wear, we are trying to become fun to make, fun to sell people, that's our idea.

As new shift of HINAYA Obi
Our new shift Obi, will be released next spring, is getting their form.
The first, is the collaboration project with Isetan Department store.
We will release it as "Only I", Isetan original at Kimono section in Isetan main shop in April next year.
Dye by all natural ingredients, mixed polyurethane for horizontal thread and mixed un-dyed silk and Japanese hand made paper for vertical thread. The pattern by jacquard weave will be the reversible enjoying different colors in and out.
To make mat not shine looking because of the hand made paper and finish very delicate colors look like an image of "Higashi"(Japanese traditional sweets for tea ceremony).
This project will be continued not only for "Only I" and can see the new vision more for the future.

When we describe our company by 10 photos..
We've started to have company educational meeting since Oct. inviting Mr. Masaaki Sakaguchi, vice president of Nippon Textile association in Tokyo.
This month, we presented each other followed the title "Describe out company by 10 photos and discuss about".
Everyone had three minutes each, read each HINAYA story they made up with the 10 photos slides showing. Punctuality is the most important.
22 group, 26 people attended. They all seemed little nervous because of their first trial this time but I felt how serious to take it they were.
It looked like a game but it was very important for our future. Because this will be the training for the communication skills.
The people who are involved with HINAYA have more communication with HINAYA, getting deeper sight of vision of HINAYA. Then I hope they can spread that energy out from inside of us.
This project, I said first trial, will be continued on and on..

I apologize that this will be the Summer Obi new collection exhibition, instead.
New summer obi by Summer Karakumi and Shijiku weaving are all summer obi but every obi is not one of a kind.

came back from the studio of mina perhonen
I went to the studio of minä perhonen in Shiroganedai, Tokyo with Susan on last Friday.
We talked that collaboration with mina and Susan would be interesting! at Susan's talk show on the 6th of last month. Then we talked about it more.
Then..
Susan Cianciolo will design using the textile from mina perhonen, same as using HINAYA's.
If it's possible, you can see them in the NY collection in Feb. 2011.
How will Susan create her collection using mina's textile? So exciting to see.
And..
We were so excited to talked that hope we can collaborate something with all these three together in Kyoto..
Let's see how this goes.
