The tour of Santa Fe Weaving Gallery will visit us
Tomorrow, Nov. 13th, Jill, the owner of Santa Fe Weaving Gallery which is one of our clients and her customers will visit us.
We met in New York in Sep. and promised each other to meet Kyoto.
They have been in Japan already and will come from "Naoshima".
Naoshima seems very popular for visitors. It seems that almost every visitors from Europe and North America visit Naoshima recently..
Anyway, this will be her third time with her customers to visit us. Some of them visit us already in the past. I have been having a little pressure to welcome them in a different way than before.
I don't want to let them down..

You see our textile at Susan Cianciolo show in Frankfurt-Not in Fashion
The exhibition "Not in Fashion-Fashion in the 90's" has been held at Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt(MMK) in Germany from Oct. 30th to Jan. 9th.
Mark Borthwick, Helmut Lung, Kostas Murkudis, Maison Martin Margiela, Walter van Beirendonck, Maria Cornejo, M/M Paris, Bernadette Corporation, Vanessa Beecroft, BLESS and Susan Cianciolo are all designers in this show.
Susan presented her collection with show style just right before visiting Kyoto.
She created her show with her archives from many different year and you can see textile from Hinaya in her collection.

The company which we can carry for 100 years
Sat. Nov. 6th. Mr. Akira Minagawa from minä perhonen visited us.
It was before he went to the talk show with Susan Cianciolo.
I took him and Mr. Keiko Tanaka, textile designer of minä perhonen to our weaving room and dyeing room after they talk Susan and Ms, Nakako Hayashi, the host for the show.
I was so pleased to have their compliments about us and they said "We will visit you again".
It was very honored to see him because I have been interested in minä perhonen's "Monodukuri"-"Making" and looked forward to talking to him since I have known them.
I was filled with deep emotion to talk to him...
That was in a car on the way to the talk show.
I can't agree more to your philosophy "To make a company which we can carry for 100 years".
Because I started minä perhonen with exactly the same idea.

一染一織 (IsssenIsshiki)
We celebrated Shichi-go-san(753) for my second daughter yesterday.
Dyed by madder degraded on one ori-woven fabric for kimono- for kimono and obi. (Issen Isshiki-one dye on one fabric)
I dyed myself for my first daughter's Shichi-go-san to celebrate.
She looks very cute in the madder color kimono with her smile and colored madder on the tree. She was popular by sightseers from over the sea taking the many photos of her made her very happy!
