LIFE in COLOURS-The works of Akihiko Izukura

Akihiko Izukura has been exhibiting at Nottingham Trent University with his about three hundred art works, with the [Sun Dyes] dye by the sun particularly.

He said,
I would love to message to people the way of the dyeing and weaving which respects a nature and entrusts to a nature cycle.
We are facing to have to consider how the dyeing and weaving in the era of a mass garments wasting. I also would love to message to the world, the way of making garments respecting a nature and no burden on a nature.

We, as father and son, have conflicted each other over the work for our company, however, his creative activity always sounds to my heart in some way.
Let me tell you, I am influenced by him the most always…

Kazuyoshi Morita

We have had a show of Akihiko Izukura in Isetan, Shanghai.

We have had a good response so far.

Kazuyoshi Morita has been there to take care of the customers until the 21st which will be the last day of this show.
There has been no time off during the two weeks, from 10 in the morning to 9:30 in the evening.
I must assume that it has been very difficult for him physically and mentally facing the great number of new experiences that come with a large new market.

However, I felt like I can count on him through his email in which he has said "I will absorb everything that I can from each customer and learn as much as possible."

I have felt a great deal of pressure since we decided to attend this event regardless of having had lots of supports and assistance from many people that I can not express my appreciation enough to.

So... this has become a big thing for me to have him with us as he has been quite bright and positive.

About Shanghai...

In addition to the good response and sales there,

I am truly happy to see his enthusiastic and responsible attitude toward his job.
He looks full of life and diligent.
I am truly happy to see him more than the result this time..

LIFE in COLOURS - The works of Akihiko Izukura Exhibition in Notingham, U.K.

From April 22, 2010, Akihiko Izukura will do an exhibition and workshop at Nottingham Trent University. in England. In conjunction with the exhibition, Izukura will be running a series of natural textile workshops. The head of fashion and knitwear in Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art and Design, Julie Pinches who had viewed Izukura’s exhibition held in Kobe Fashion Museum 2008, said: “When I first saw Izukura’s work in Japan I knew the impact it would have on a UK audience and was really keen to be able to show it here at the university. The intensity of colour and fusion of craft techniques and processes will amaze the viewer, but what really strikes is the message that contemporary fashion and textile design can be fully sustainable and an inspiration to the next generation of designers.”

Collaboration with N4

One of our new staff who had joined a company last November introduced
designer of the brand of "N4" , Mr. Koichi Watanabe to me.

Mr. Watanabe's interest for dyeing and weaving led him to us while
reading this blog, and he visited us last January, right before my
business trip to Europe .

Koichi Watanabe : in the person with a wonderful smile!
He is such an attractive person and I wanted to work together at the
first sight.

Actually, I was touched with his sincere attitude and passion for
creation. He often stopped by at our studio and ask many questions on
dyeing and weaving. He never compromise with the quality.

Only a few days ago, his new collection with our support was premiered
and he kindly sent me the photographs of the products. Of course the
show was successful.

This collection is now added to our previous collaboration with the
creator in Paris and New York.
I deeply feel with my passion that I would love to keep contributing
our weaving and dyeing techniques to Japanese creators in the future.
